Tirupathi Temple History

TIRUMALA Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple is a historic temple of Vaishnavite located in the town of Tirumala in Tirupati, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Sri Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu, who seems to have appeared here to save mankind from the trials and problems of Kali Yuga. Hence the place also had the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntham and Lord here is called Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam. The temple is also known by other names as the temple of Tirumala, the temple of Tirupati, the temple of Tirupati Balaji.
